I do not use filters, but that may be just because I'm lazy when it comes to cleaning! I have heard a lot of good from the balsa type filters, though.

What is your method Sid?  I like balsa filters, but the Savinelli's get expensive, especially the 9mm.
I've wondered if one can find it in blanks at a hobby shop.

I use a circle of pipe cleaner in the humidome of the Falcon Metal Pipes to sop up the juices that collect in the bottom of it.

Falcon's:  I use a C shaped section of pipe cleaner too. Another method is to recycle that cotton wadding in medicine and vitamin bottles.  Tear off a small bit and roll into a straight section, fashion a C shape and place around the humidor. It is very absorbent and you never have any leeching of tobacco juice at the bottom of the bowl.

Thank you sir. I have added a translation widget on the left column, i know that Google translation especially in technical terms is terrible but i try to compensate this with lot of step-by-step photos to help the pipe smokers understand what i am doing.
